The Chicago Bears will be in the running for the two quarterbacks who fall from the top three. However, with five likely first-round picks at QB, sitting at pick 20 is not the easiest spot to ensure one after QBs go 1-3. Still, it would be surprising if the team did not draft a QB, round one or not.

With that in mind, the next group of quarterbacks would include Jamie Newman, Kellen Mond, Davis Mills, and Kyle Trask. With the help of Pro Football Focus, we can look into how these QBs have performed under pressure over the years.

Jamie Newman under pressure stats

According to PFF, Newman takes a sack 19% of the time that he faced pressure. His passing grade also dropped 19.7 points from non-pressure situations to 68.9

Kellen Mond under pressure stats

Mond only took a sack on 8.6% of the dropbacks where he faced pressure. His passing grade was 57.8 under pressure, though. That was a 32.3 point drop-off in grade, which is almost twice as worse as Newman’s. Mond was not taking sacks, but not making good decisions.

Davis Mills under pressure stats

Mills took a sack on 17% of the dropbacks where he faced pressure. His passing grade was 60.7 under pressure, and he dropped 24.5 points under pressure. His passing grades were not as bad as Mond despite taking more sacks. On the other end, he took fewer sacks than Newman but had a bit of a bigger drop-off as a passer under pressure.

Kyle Trask under pressure stats

Kyle Trask took a sack on 16.9% of the dropbacks where he saw pressure. Mond is clearly the most elusive but is also the worst passer under pressure. Trask had a 71.1 under pressure, although it did drop 22.5 points when he faced pressure. For Trask, a lot of this shows how good of a situation he was in. He had his issues under pressure as well, but had so much help from a clean pocket, that it did not look like a big drop-off under pressure.

Still, the reality is that when you look at this you do not see anyone that stands out. There is a reason this group is in the 6-9 tier and it may be hard for the Chicago Bears to make the right choice of this group.
