Round 3 Spencer Brown, RT, Northern Iowa

If you are not happy with the first two picks it is probably because it neglected the offensive line. That is fair, but after the first few you can nitpick a lot in the middle, and find the best value in this third and fifth-round area. This one also checks the Ryan Pace box of finding the small school gem.

You may not know Spencer Brown, but he is entering the NFL as one of the biggest and most athletic linemen, not only in the draft but in the league. The guy can move, he is huge, and he can play.

The Bears can hold him out early and let him progress, but he screams long-term upside at right tackle. We have a draft profile exploring his strengths and weaknesses as well.

Round 5 Tommy Doyle, LT, Miami OH

I may have passed on OL early, but I am not forgetting about It. With Doyle and Brown, we are taking shots at the serious upside and potential to be values. Doyle, like Brown, checked in as a huge man and an elite athlete.

Imagine if the Chicago Bears could find long-term lock-ups to the left and right side here with small school mammoths who have time to develop. When you look at players who get mocked higher, the biggest difference they have from Doyle is the helmet logo. Players such as Brady Christensen, James Hudson, and Dillon Radunz have just as many questions. Finding a player like Doyle rounds later is taking advantage of an unusually deep class.

Round 6

Darren Hall, CB, SDSU

Darrick Forrest, S, Cincinatti

Shaka Toney, EDGE, PSU

Along with a few future picks, the recoup from Anthony Miller the Bears lose one of their sixth-round picks as well. However, they get a haul at defensive positions of need. This is right in the Ryan Pace wheelhouse of hitting on defensive athletes late.

Darren Hall has great athleticism and is a sticky press corner. Forrest can lay the boom and profiles as competition for Deon Bush in the box. Shaka Toney is a bit light and has to be a 3-4 OLB who plays off the ball and drops, but his speed and bend around the edge would make him a great situational pass rusher on third down. Beyond that, all three would be special teams additions.

Next. One OT for every round of 2021 NFL draft. dark

Justin Fields, QB, Ohio St.

Spencer Brown, RT, Northern Iowa

Tommy Doyle, LT, Miami OH

Darren Hall, CB, SDSU

Darrick Forrest, S, Cincy

Shaka Toney, EDGE, PSU

Adding a quarterback, pass catcher, two lineman, and three depth defenders would be the dream. How much of this can the Bears actually pull off?
