3. Caleb Farley

As noted in the last slide, the defense should be on the back burner, but if not, it has to be a cornerback. If Farley falls, his upside and what he provides to the defense is much more than any of the edge rushers mentioned.

However, his downside is just as low. Farley opted out of 2020, which is completely fair due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, while prospects like Ja’Marr Chase and Penei Sewell opted out and then had excellent pro days to prove their condition, Farley added medical questions.

Farley had a back procedure this offseason and missed workouts. He had a back issue in 2019 that caused him to miss two games. He also tore his ACL as a freshman.

Farley has a lot of upside but is a former wide receiver who is still raw at the position overall. Had he played, his experience and upside could have warranted the pick. The lack of experience combined with the injury question has to push him off of the board for round one. However, you could see Ryan Pace look to replace Kyle Fuller with this prospect. It could work out, but is a risk.
