The Chicago Bears select Kelvin Joseph, CB – Kentucky

With the 109th pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears select Kelvin Joseph. Joseph is a 6’1″ cornerback out of Kentucky. This pick will add some much-needed depth at cornerback. Do we really feel comfortable with the cornerbacks on this roster? Jaylon Johnson is an injury concern, and so is newcomer Desmond Trufant. Artie Burns is coming off a season-ending knee injury in 2020 but is back with the Bears. Kindle Vildor has shown flashes but isn’t great.

Joseph is a bit of a developmental guy, but has the potential to become a starting corner in the NFL. In nine games this season, Joseph came away with four interceptions and returned one for a touchdown. This team will be better with Joseph in the mix. I could see him taking over the CB3 role before the season is over.

I could no help myself though and got an itchy, trigger finger though. Let’s say I channeled my inner-Ryan Pace here. I just made my sixth trade in this draft too, which seems like a lot. Probably an unrealistic amount of trades to be fair, but man if Pace could do these moves, it would be amazing.
