Chicago Bears: Day Three

The third and final day of the NFL Draft will take place on Saturday,  May 1st at 11 A.M. Central Standard Time. The third day for the Bears will be the only day that they have an abnormal number of picks. They do not possess a fourth-round pick or a seventh-round pick. On the other hand, they have four sixth-round picks, so the Bears have some leverage to maneuver trades.

Round 5

After missing the fourth round, the Bears will select 164th overall in the fifth round of the NFL Draft. In the later rounds, Pace has tended to lean on players who went to a smaller school or have a ton of athletic upside, such as Darnell Mooney who covers both of these topics. This round though they may need depth at this point on defense at either cornerback or safety. Additionally, they could attempt to bolster more on their offense by adding another wide receiver.

Prediction: The Chicago Bears select Wide Receiver Josh Imatorbhebhe out of Illinois at 164th overall.

Round 6

As stated, the Bears have four picks in the sixth round. They have picks 204, 208, 221, and 228. Most of these picks are toss-ups with upside and depth needed at certain positions like cornerback, safety, tight end, interior offensive lineman, and even more.

Prediction: The Chicago Bears select

  • Center Jimmy Morrissey out of Pittsburgh at 204th overall
  • Cornerback Tre Brown out of Oklahoma at 208th overall
  • Safety Christian Uphoff out of Illinois State at 221st overall
  • Quarterback Feleipe Franks out of Arkansas at 228th overall
