Chicago Bears Round 4, Pick No. 133 via NO

The Bears truly should attack offense heavily, but that doesn’t give them the okay to ignore their defense. This offseason, the Bears lost a lot of depth and a few starters on their defense, especially on their defensive line. So, the Bears need to restore some of that adding Osa Odighizuwa out of UCLA.

As usual, I love my wrestler/football players. Odighizuwa was a three-time high school state champion wrestler. After redshirting his freshman year, Odighizuwa was an immediate contributor for the Bruins. He played everywhere along the defensive line and truly shined in 2020 for UCLA earning himself first-team All-Pac 12 honors racking up 30 tackles, six for a loss, and four sacks in only seven games.

Odighizuwa is versatile in that he can play anywhere along the defensive line, but that is a double-edged sword as he truly doesn’t have a position. He does have good size and incredible athletic ability that he should be fine, but he is just hard to project. Odighizuwa is extremely quick and gets off the snap quickly. Thanks to wrestling, he is great at hand fighting and using those hands to get past offensive blockers.

With his athletic ability, Odighizuwa has tremendous upside and would be a perfect rotational defensive lineman for the Bears that could learn from some great players. With Akiem Hicks, Eddie Goldman, and Bilal Nichols, Odighizuwa could rotate in with them and learn from three great linemen. He could eventually take over for Hicks as he is in a contract year and he will be 32 next season.
