4. Amon-Ra St. Brown, USC
Amon-Ra St. Brown is another tricky one where you do not know where he will get drafted. He could even be a player who is there in round three. With that in mind, the Chicago Bears need to keep an eye on him but need to know where his draft stock is.
St. Brown would have been a top 50 lock if his 2020 season was not as good as the years before. St. Brown was excellent in 2018 and 2019 and took a step back last year. Most can excuse that due to the COVID year, but for St. Brown, there may be more.
He played in the slot early into his career and moved outside in 2020. The change combined with the COVID lockdowns did not help, but it may have exposed St. Brown as a slot-only wide receiver. His athletic testing put him in the Jarvis Landry mold of player. This is a slot player.
This hurts his draft stock, not for Chicago. A crisp route runner who is timing-based and tough with the ball in his hands is exactly what Chicago needs. The drop will help him fall to a fit that is perfect for him rather than a team asking him to do too much. Is that Chicago?
