The 2021 NFL Draft just keeps getting better and better for the Chicago Bears.

It’s another round, and another trade-up for Ryan Pace. This time, he moved up the board to select a player that was consistently mocked to the team — in the first round.

Ryan Pace traded up from 52 to 39, by sending the Panthers the 52nd, 83rd and 204th pick in return for 39 and 151. This eliminated the Chicago Bears from the third round, but now the team will be picking again in the fifth round — 14 picks before they were originally picking in the fifth round before trading that pick (165) to the Giants when the Bears moved up for Justin Fields. With only two picks, Ryan Pace has rejuvenated this fan base.

That’s right, Teven Jenkins is now a Chicago Bear!

In this episode of The Chicago Audible, Will DeWitt, Nicholas Moreano and Mason West share their initial analysis (and reaction) on the Chicago Bears’ second-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

The guys analyze on the fly, explain how Teven Jenkins fits on the Chicago Bears offensive line, what his top strengths and weaknesses are, whether or not he is a “shoe-in” Day 1 starter, why he’s going to bolster the running game in addition to better pass protection, and much more including realistic rookie expectations for Jenkins and their instant grades of the pick and the trade-up.

Listen as the guys break down this move from every angle possible including:

What strengths does Teven Jenkins provide the Chicago Bears offensive line?

Like Justin Fields, should Jenkins start Day 1, or should the Bears be patient?

What is Jenkins’ floor? What about his ceiling?

What are the intangibles that immediately stand out when watching Jenkins’ tape?

Why does drafting Jenkins make so much sense?

Is the pick worth the draft capital that was used to move up?

dark. Next. Ryan Pace hits home run in second round

And of course, how does this move impact the remainder of the draft for the Bears?

As always, the guys at The Chicago Audible, have you covered.
