Justin Fields had his first taste of the big, bad Chicago sports media, on April 30th. He suited up in his best maroon suit and took the media head-on in his introductory Chicago Bears press conference.

Did Justin Fields even need to say anything for Chicago Bears fans to love him?

Even though it would be nice to understand Fields since there were a handful of thought-provoking questions asked, knowing the Bears fan base has me believe there weren’t pre-determined answers that fans needed him to give to be able to trust him. Bears fans are already in love with this guy. I even saw a post comparing him to Michael Jordan. Now, let me repeat, Bears fans are already in love with Justin Fields.

For many Bears fans, he could have gone up there, spoke nothing but Morse code, and Bears fans would still be losing their marbles. But, he did something even better than that. Justin Fields gave cool, collected, and confident answers, and for Bears fans around the nation, it is fair to say that the expectations are high and the stage is set for this young man to change the narrative around Chicago Bears quarterbacks.

Within this 23 minutes and 57 seconds introductory press conference, I’m going to do a deep dive on what provides a reason for me to make these claims, and why Chicago Bears fans should feel very good moving forward– at least at the quarterback position.

Some aspects the Chicago media tried to get him on are things like big plays, his expectations of himself, the unavoidable epilepsy question(s), and who he looks up to as a young NFL quarterback fresh to the league.

Well, let’s see what Justin Fields looks like on media row, since the team already made their decision on his ability to play football at the highest level.

Now, let’s get to the breakdown, shall we?
