The NFL draft is always a tough time as much as a fun time. So many jobs are made, but in that others are lost. Veterans across the league have to sit on their hands for a weekend and wonder what type of competition will be coming.

However, when the draft goes your way as a veteran, it could alter your career. It could be the perfect addition or the vote of confidence you needed. For whatever reason, these five veterans came away from the draft weekend with higher stock than they entered.

5. Sam Mustipher

There is a very real chance that Sam Mustipher starts at center for the Chicago Bears week one. Sure, the team could look to either James Daniels or Cody Whitehair at center, and then push Mustipher back to the bench.

Still, the Chicago Bears stayed away from the interior offensive line altogether, which gives a better chance to the idea that Whitehair and Daniels will play at guard and Mustipher will play at center.

It was clear that the offensive line was a need and a position that the Chicago Bears hit hard. However, staying away from the interior, and center has to give Mustipher a  feeling that he is much closer to starting in 2021.
