More on new Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields

The Chicago Bears are a different team, with Ryan Pace leading the team. As we have seen with Mitch Trubisky, that can be a bad thing. It can be a good thing, as we have seen with Darnell Mooney. I hope this year’s draft class is another example of the positive reasons to move up.

Some can say, well, he got Justin Fields and Teven Jenkins. I have high hopes for them, but we need to see it first, back on Justin Fields. Things I don’t like about the move to obtain him include Justin Fields isn’t Trevor Lawerence. Yep, that is it. Let’s get into some gushing about Justin Fields. One of the most underrated things I have said when it comes to quarterbacks is, Fields can play in the cold.

This is Chicago, the windy city, the midwest, snow, and shovels. I am sorry about all of the other quarterbacks. There is a big difference between playing in 75-degree weather on a cloudy day. Sure, Aaron Rodgers has shown that great quarterbacks can play in any weather. Also, Nathan Peterman (Pittsburg) demonstrated that bad quarterbacks couldn’t play regardless of where they played in college.

Justin Fields is from the south and still thrived in the brutal winters in Ohio State. That is a promising start to his career. Fields, unlike Kyle Trask, has elite arm talent. Now, I never stated that I don’t want a strong-armed quarterback; I just admire what Kyle Trask has down with a limited arm in college.

What both quarterbacks possess is the ability to read the field and make good decisions. Trask might have a faster processor than Fields, but Fields has a quicker processor than Trubisky as a prospect. Elite athleticism is a bonus. The quarterback’s main job is to throw the ball. I don’t care what anybody says. If the quarterback can’t throw the ball accurately and adequately, what is the point.

Justin Fields comes with that ability and athleticism. That seems almost too good to be true. While Fields isn’t more athletic than Lamar Jackson, I believe he is more athletic than Deshaun Watson. What more can you want from the #11 overall selection? Oh yes, he was my number two quarterback on my board. I understand the love for Zach Wilson (my #3) and Trey Lance (nope) but to gain an accomplished and talented quarterback from an elite program is breath tacking.
