Chicago Bears: 5 must-sign free agents after 2021 NFL Draft

Post-NFL Draft must-sign free agents for the Chicago Bears: CB Richard Sherman
This is a move you make if you’re all-in on the 2021 season, period. Former All-Pro and Pro Bowl cornerback Richard Sherman is still available for the taking, and if the Bears want to make a Super Bowl run behind Justin Fields this year, he’s a guy this defense could use.
It doesn’t matter that they supposedly have their two starting cornerbacks on the outside in Desmond Trufant and Jaylon Johnson. Sherman is still capable of playing at a high level, as he’s proven with San Francisco over the last few seasons. If the Bears need to put Trufant on the back burner or even try him in the slot, then so be it.
Sherman is the type of player who gives his defenses an edge. He plays physical, tough and intimidating football. He always has. He’s extremely smart, and he’s been able to stay at a high level due to how intelligent he is. Sherman might be aging a bit, but it’s his IQ that keeps him in this league.
After playing in only five games last year due to injury, Sherman is looking to come back healthy for 2021. He’s currently in talks to rejoin the 49ers, but if the Bears can somehow snag him away, he would be one heck of an addition.
