Value free agents available for the Chicago Bears: G Nick Easton

One of the areas the Bears became suddenly strong at last year was on the inside of their offensive line. When James Daniels went down to injury, Chicago finally found their groove with Sam Mustipher playing center and Alex Bars filling in at guard.

With Mustipher likely staying put at center and Cody Whitehair along with Daniels at guard, the interior is pretty set. However, they could afford to add some depth and competition there for training camp. One of the biggest priorities for the Bears going into 2021 is establishing a strong running game, and the interior was one of the main reasons why David Montgomery had such a great second half to 2020.

Still looking for a team is veteran guard Nick Easton, who spent the last two seasons with the New Orleans Saints and started 15 games. Before his stint with New Orleans, Easton began his career with a couple of teams, yet never got his shot on an active roster until the Minnesota Vikings signed him. Easton spent two seasons with the Vikings after bouncing around as an undrafted free agent in 2015.

Easton has had his fair share of injuries in the past few years, spending some time on injured reserve here and there. But, when healthy, he’s been a valuable offensive lineman in this league.
