The Chicago Bears could trade Nick Foles to the Indianapolis Colts

The Chicago Bears could opt to trade Nick Foles to the Colts who just so happen to have Carson Wentz and Frank Reich. Wentz obviously started ahead of Foles for years in Philadelphia while Reich was the Eagles’ offensive coordinator back when the band was still together.

It’s clear that the Colts want to win now. After not spending a lot of money in free agency, the team should have no issues affording Foles to back up Wentz. Credit goes towards The Pat McAfee Show for bringing this landing spot to the surface, and it makes sense if Reich wanted the same security under center that he had a few years ago.

Maybe some fans feel like Wentz would have to look over his shoulder again with Foles, but he could also use it as momentum to go and get his own Super Bowl ring as the starter. Indianapolis lost Jacoby Brissett in free agency and has Jacob Eason and rookie Sam Ehlinger on the current roster.

The Tennessee Titans also need a backup

The Titans are playing a little closer to the cap with $5.3 million currently, so acquiring Foles would be expensive for a backup, but maybe they could shed some cap elsewhere via cuts, trades, etc.

Tennessee is just another team that needs to win now. I’m a fan of coach Mike Vrabel, but how long does he have left until the team starts winning some playoff games? He has Ryan Tannehill, who is more than capable of making a championship push with Derrick Henry toting the rock, but are Logan Woodside and DeShone Kizer the answers at the backup spots?

Foles has won playoff games. Knock on wood that nothing happens to Tannehill, but in a game like football, you need a guy that’s been there. And honestly, how difficult can it be to hand off to King Henry and run play-action passes to A.J. Brown?
