2. Pharoh Cooper
This is not going to excite the fan base, but right now the slot options are questionable at best as well. Pharoh Cooper may not even bring as much to the slot as he does bring to the return game, anyways. While the Bears lost Cordarelle Patterson and hope to replace him with Khalil Herbert, that has been anything but handed over to the rookie.
Herbert is expected to return kicks, but the Bears could see an ability to add competition to the slot and add a kick return option in Pharoah Cooper. Cooper is no Patterson, but is much experienced than Herbert, as he has been returning kicks since 2016.
The issue with Cooper is that he does bring little on the field. It is not like Tate, where you expect him to beat out Anthony Miller and Dazz Newsome. In fact, Cooper would be struggling to beat out the rookie. This is a player with 55 catches and nearly 200 return attempts. He is what he is, and that is special teams help.
