Chicago Bears players who will be gone after 2021: Jimmy Graham
Last year, when the Bears originally signed Jimmy Graham to what looked like a highly overpriced deal, there were a lot of fans upset. The contract didn’t exactly make sense at that price point.
However, Graham proved to have plenty left in the tank in 2020. He actually provided quite the spark in the red zone for Chicago and finished the year with 50 receptions for 456 yards and eight touchdowns.
The old man still had it, even if he was asked to make some of the more athletic-looking catches he’s made in a while. Graham provided the Bears’ quarterbacks with a dependable set of hands, that’s for certain.
However, he only signed a two-year deal, meaning his contract is up after the 2021 season. It’s hard to see the Bears investing more money into a tight end who will be 35 years old by next year, especially when they are grooming Cole Kmet to be their de facto number one tight end.
Graham will have definitely served his purpose in Chicago, making an impact on the community and his locker room. But, his time will be up after 2021 and the Bears will most likely replace him with another youngster to go along with Kmet.
