Players to concern Chicago Bears: Amari Rodgers, WR, Green Bay Packers

After mistakenly not taking a single wide receiver in the 2020 NFL Draft, Green Bay Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst finally learned his lesson and drafted one in 2021. Although Amari Rodgers was just a third-round pick, Rodgers should be an immediate impact player.

The Packers led by Aaron Rodgers are one of the best offenses in football. It helps them greatly too that they have a high-end running back in Aaron Jones and an elite wide receiver in Davante Adams. They have seemed to find a gem in tight end Robert Tonyan as well, but they truly lacked a lethal deep threat over the past two seasons as Marques Valdes-Scantling has had drop issues.

Now, the Packers already added to their loaded offense. Amari Rodgers will be able to take a top off of the defense and then Adams is nearly impossible to cover as well. Amari Rodgers adds a dimension to this offense that the Packers haven’t had.

If Amari Rodgers additionally lines up in the slot, that will give the Bears a lot of trouble as they don’t have a true slot cornerback that is proven on their roster with the release of Buster Skrine. Duke Shelley showed promise last year, but it remains to be seen how good he will be.
