2. Davante Adams
This is going to end up being like the Tom Brady effect with sixth round quarterbacks. Now, even though all these sixth round QBs fail, because they went round six we have to say, well you never know it could be Tom Brady.
With this, every time a player has a disappointing start to their career, they will say that Adams became the best WR in the NFL and after three years he was becoming an after thought. It will inspire hope in many fourth year breakouts just like this one with Miller.
At least we can say that this is a comparison to a player who stayed on the same team and broke out, right?

1 | Davante Adams | 2014 | 2016 | 19 | 45 | 163 | 1926 | 16 | 11.8 | 66 |
2 | Anthony Miller | 2018 | 2020 | 13 | 47 | 134 | 1564 | 11 | 11.7 | 55 |
You can see from a stat perspective that even though Adams struggled, he was a bit more productive. However, that all comes from volume and not efficiency. You can see Adams has 11.8 yards per catch, to 11.7 for Miller. Adams also averaged 6.85 per target, while Miller was at 7.27.
So, had Miller saw the volume of Adams, they would be even closer through two seasons. The odds are low, but we have seen someone emerge to sky high abilities after a few down years.
