Chicago Bears Offensive Tackles

  1. Teven Jenkins (R)
  2. Germain Ifedi
  3. Larry Borom (R)
  4. Elijah Wilkinson
  5. Lachavious Simmons
  6. Gunnar Vogel (R)
  7. Badara Traore

The two offensive tackles expected to start for the Bears are rookie Teven Jenkins and Germain Ifedi who struggled in Seattle. Jenkins likely has to be a left tackle as well, which he hardly played in college. Ifedi at right tackle should be solid but he could still be a shaky player to start there despite Juan Castillo having plenty of faith in him.

The Bears additionally drafted Larry Borom in the fifth round to likely compete with Ifedi and potentially compete at right guard as well. Elijah Wilkinson joined the Bears this offseason as well and can be the swing tackle.

Lachavious Simmons, a seventh-round pick in 2020, Gunnar Vogel, and Badara Traore all likely can compete to make the roster and the practice squad as well. Traore made the practice squad last offseason after joining the Bears as an undrafted free agent in 2020.

Grade: C-

This Bears offensive tackle group is very risky this season with a rookie who has little left tackle experience starting at left tackle and a right tackle whose history says he is not good at all. The depth behind them shows no promise as well. It would help the Bears greatly to bring another veteran in as depth. This group could be great, but it doesn’t look good right now.
