Chicago Bears trade targets for Nick Foles: Cincinnati Bengals

Another team in a similar situation is the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bengals at least know Joe Burrow can play in the league, but he’s coming off a bad knee injury. Although the Bengals are not likely to make a run at the Super Bowl this year, Burrow could use a veteran presence with playoff and Super Bowl experience playing behind him.

Geographically, Cincinnati is not too far from Chicago. Maybe Nick Foles would be willing to play for the Bengals while his family remains here in Illinois. Or maybe Nick Foles and his family would be okay with a shorter move to Ohio?

Unlike the Jets, at least the backup quarterback for the Bengals has some regular-season experience. The number two guy on the roster is former sixth-round pick (2016), Brandon Allen. Allen has started eight games between 2019 and 2020. He has a 2-6 record during that span and has thrown eight touchdowns to six interceptions. Making a trade for Nick Foles by sending a late-round pick makes too much sense.
