Chicago Bears: 4 teams that should still trade for Nick Foles
Chicago Bears trade targets for Nick Foles: Dallas Cowboys
The final team on this list is the Dallas Cowboys. Dak Prescott is coming off his fractured ankle and although looks to be set to start the regular season, the team is lacking an insurance policy. Andy Dalton is now in Chicago as the team’s potential QB1 to start the year.
Dalton started nine games for the Cowboys last year. The outcome was not great as the team went 4-5 during that span. However, if the Cowboys want to make a run in a somewhat weak NFC East division, then adding a better backup to play behind Prescott is probably a good idea.
As of now, the Cowboys have Cooper Rush and Garrett Gilbert to backup Prescott. Nick Foles would easily improve that quarterback room and only cost a sixth or seventh-round pick. Rush has been with the Cowboys since 2017. To think he can handle starting at any point now would be a mistake.
Garrett Gilbert has bounced around the last three years. His only start came for the Cowboys last year when he completed less than 56% of his passes while throwing one touchdown and an interception. He too is not the answer.
Jerry Jones should be more than willing to bring in a quarterback that helped lead one of his rivals to a Super Bowl as recently as four seasons ago. It would not cost him much in terms of draft capital or money either. The key to any of these trades is just how difficult Nick Foles is going to make it for the Chicago Bears to move him.
