Chicago Bears Free Agent Target: Trai Turner, Offensive Guard, LAC

It’s rare to find a five-time Pro Bowler as a free agent right now for a good price. Trai Turner is still only 28 and made the Pro Bowl each season from 2015 to 2019. So, why is an offensive guard who is this good still available?

To say the least, Trai Turner was absolutely horrendous last season for the Los Angeles Chargers. The former Carolina Panthers star anchored the offensive line consistently every season he was there. He then was traded to the Chargers for Russell Okung. After one season, PFF graded him a 34.8 overall. He only played nine games and then was released in March.

But before that, he was very good in Carolina. The Bears could bring him in to compete for a starting job or at least as veteran depth. If the Bears brought Turner in, the interior offensive line could be very solid with Cody Whitehair, James Daniels, and Turner. It would be unknown who would start at center between Whitehair and Daniels, but if Daniels could lock down the center role, that offensive line would be great.
