With everything going on around them, it is easy to forget that Mooney and Kmet were thrown into the fire last season without this kind of workout structure to practice with their teammates. The two came into the NFL cold and found their way.
However, now with a full offseason and these offseason workouts, these two may see the biggest jumps. Mooney could be in for a big jump as It is with his role as the number two wideout locked in, and a new QB coming. Still, reporters noted he looked like he took advantage of gyms being open and looks poised for a big year. He was connecting with Justin Fields early and often as well.
Cole Kmet went from trying to learn one thing at a time last year to being moved all around the formation and adding depth to his route tree this OTA session.
It is clear the team is relying on both, and it is clear that both are taking strides knowing that they lost valuable time last year.
