The Chicago Bears could regret cutting Anthony Miller this year

Now not as likely as it was a month ago, the Bears could still choose to cut ties with Anthony Miller. It might take a while longer into the offseason to make that decision, but Miller’s time with Chicago is not even close to guaranteed.

As previously stated, Ridley is a prime candidate to take a slot job in this league. But, so is Bears rookie Dazz Newsome. Chicago has a couple of players who could jump in and take that slot job away from Miller. At the very least, both Newsome and Ridley could be fifth and sixth on the depth chart in favor of Miller being cut.

Look, as much of a distraction Miller’s attitude and immaturity have been at times, he’s still a very talented player. What he can do after the catch is special at times. If he’s cut this year, he could very well go on to have a long, successful career in the NFL. Assuming he’s done some growing up, Miller may have turned a corner. But, will he be allowed to turn the corner with the Bears?

If receivers coach Mike Furrey’s opinion has any indication of what the Bears could do with Miller, he may not stick around past training camp. If he’s cut, the Bears may regret it, especially if Newsome’s injury lingers at all.
