1. Chicago Bears rookie Justin Fields handles pressure similarly to Mahomes

First and foremost, Bears fans were reeled in even further when they heard Justin Fields’ famous “I’m built for this” response to a media member asking him about being a quarterback in Chicago. That type of position comes with all sorts of pressure. Speaking of pressure, the topic came up again after a practice a few days ago.

Coach Nagy recently talked about Fields’ ability to handle pressure or bad plays:

"“That’s the one thing that I’m seeing right now from him that is really neat is that whether it’s in practice, if there’s a bad play, if a play has to be called two or three times in the huddle, he doesn’t get flustered,” Nagy said. “He’s very, very stoic. I was telling one of the coaches walking out today that I think he’d be a pretty good poker player because he’s pretty straight-faced, and that’s good. That’s a good thing.”"

The fact that Fields doesn’t get flustered after a poor play or while under duress is eerily similar to how Nagy described Mahomes back in 2017 when he talked about coach Andy Reid getting after the rookie in training camp.

It is interesting how both quarterbacks can have the same mentality when it comes to handling tough situations, yet completely different personalities. Mahomes is obviously the more fun-loving type of guy while Fields is fairly laid back and not all that talkative. Still, when it comes time to work, both are ready for it.
