2. Chicago Bears rookie Justin Fields has a similar work ethic to Mahomes

Back in the summer of 2017, Mahomes never missed a voluntary workout with the Chiefs. He even stayed after practice many times to put in some extra work with a few select guys.

Fields can say the same thing thus far and has also put in some extra work on the side with some of his new teammates. Very early on, Fields and new Bears wide receiver Marquise Goodwin spent some time together and put in a little work outside of any official practice with the team.

The fact that it was Goodwin whom Fields worked with is key, here, because Goodwin is a new face on this roster and will be fighting for his spot on the team. The former Buffalo Bill and San Francisco 49er also sat out last season, so getting as much work as possible with a guy like Fields is key to his making the team in 2021.

Back in the summer of 2017 during Mahomes’ rookie offseason, head coach Andy Reid raved about his quarterback’s mentality. Reid specifically said that they found out early on that Mahomes “loves to work,” and that he studies hard.

Although their personalities are a little bit different, Fields and Mahomes are extremely similar when it comes to business on the field. Even as rookies, both were (and still are in Mahomes’ case) as dedicated to their craft as they come.
