The Chicago Bears have new faces in the Windy City

The Chicago Bears have a couple of new mystery offensive weapons. The Bears acquired the speedy wide receiver, Marquise Goodwin in free agency. They also signed wide receiver Damiere Byrd. I really don’t expect many people to know who he is but just wait, you will. Another mystery is their second-year tight end, Cole Kmet. On a side note — Travis Kelce and George Kittle are putting on a camp for a couple of tight ends in the NFL. Kmet is one of the participants.

Damiere Byrd was one of my favorite signings this offseason and I think he is going to be a real gem for Ryan Pace and Matt Nagy. Byrd played extremely well with the Patriots last season totaling 47 receptions for 604 yards. Although this might not seem like anything crazy, Byrd was putting up good numbers with a tricky QB situation all year long in New England.

Allen Robinson is undisputedly the team’s best offensive weapon. Most Bears fans know how good Robinson is and this year might be even better. The Bears didn’t have many options last year. 80 percent of the time, you knew the ball was going towards Robinson. (As it should have, but it makes it twice as hard on Robinson.) Adding these two pieces with more experience from our current players will only open more opportunities for Robinson.
