Chicago Bears: Free agent WR replacements for Allen Robinson in 2022
Could the Chicago Bears steal Davante Adams from Green Bay?
There are plenty of rumors going around surrounding Davante Adams right now. He recently made a comment about it being a dream to play with his college quarterback Derek Carr. However, he made it known he is a Packer now and rumors are also floating around that the Packers are willing to spend big on Adams, giving him a record-breaking extension.
Some believe that Davante Adams would not put up as great of numbers without Aaron Rodgers. We have a very small sample size in 2017 to look at for some results. Aaron Rodgers only played in seven games that season. If we look at how Davante Adams performed during that time, it was hit or miss. Adams had a few great games, and a few games he was like a ghost. He scored five of his 10 touchdowns without Rodgers but had games when he caught two balls for 12 yards.
Overall though, Adams appears to be the real deal and just like Allen Robinson, one of the best wide receivers in the league. Unlike Robinson, Adams is able to get in the end zone. He has scored double-digit touchdowns in four of his seven seasons. Last year, Adams scored a league-leading 18 touchdowns. If he hits free agency in 2022, he will likely be one of the hottest free agents out there. However, at 30 years old, is he who the Chicago Bears should target?
