As we count down to training we are going to countdown the Chicago Bears roster in 2021. This list will be a list of the most valuable players entering this season. The idea is that these players are ranked by how their impact could affect the 2021 roster, it is not worrying about beyond that.

With that in mind, we are now entering the top 80 players on the roster.

80. Tyrone Wheatley Jr., OT

Wheatley tried out and signed after OTAs. On one hand, he is the least experienced on the roster by all standards, on the other, he booked a ticket to camp, which was harder for some others. Wheatley is the son of an NFL running back. He was a tight end in college and has re-worked his body into being a tackle. He is a project, but one with more upside to bet on than some others in the 80s.

79. Thomas Ives, WR

Last Year: 83

Thomas Ives is now entering year three with the Chicago Bears. He slowly climbs up our list from 83 to 79 as well. Still, he only moves up to 79 because he may have been aided by the extra practice squad spots last year. Beyond that, the WR room is deeper this year than before.

78. CJ Marable, RB

College football fans remember Marable from Coastal Carolina during their magical season. He is a small and shifty runner who could pass Artavis Pierce and Ryan Nall on the depth chart. However, that is about his ceiling as a UDFA rookie at this point.

77. Jester Weah, WR

Weah has bounced around the NFL from the Texans to Washington. The fact that he has recently been on NFL rosters pushes him above someone such as Thomas Ives but not by much.

dark. Next. Justin Fields will be perfect with Matt Nagy

76. Jake Butt, TE

Jake Butt is an interesting prospect. He was a top prospect at tight end but injuries while in college at Michigan derailed his train. Now, Butt gets new life with the Chicago Bears. As a chance to get healthy and find his way from the practice squad he has upside. Compared to the names below him, you could picture a best-case where he finds himself on the roster late in the year.
