Chicago Bears: 3 Things Justin Fields needs to develop properly
By Joseph Herff
Matt Nagy needs to scheme the Chicago Bears’ offense to Justin Fields
One of my biggest pains with Matt Nagy as head coach of the Bears is his inability to scheme his offense to the talent he has on his offense. When Bill Lazor took over playcalling, Trubisky had his best run of games, but as soon as Nagy took the reins again, the offense reverted back to their original form.
Now, will Nagy scheme the offense to Fields? We won’t know until we see. Maybe since Fields is Nagy’s quarterback that he drafted, he will work to have his quarterback succeed by scheming his offense to his abilities. Maybe he will continue to try and fit square pegs into circular holes and fail again.
Regardless, Nagy’s career in Chicago likely rides on how well he succeeds with developing rookie quarterback Fields. The jury is currently out on Nagy’s ability to do so personally, but he could still prove me wrong and scheme an offense to aid in Fields’ development.
