Chicago Bears draft candidates to replace Allen Robinson: Justyn Ross, Clemson

One of the most polarizing wide receiver prospects you will hear about between now and next year is Clemson’s Justyn Ross. A couple of years ago, Ross was one of the most coveted receiver prospects in the country. After a ridiculous 2018 campaign where he caught only 41 passes but racked up 1,000 yards and nine touchdowns, Ross was looked at as one of the nation’s top overall players.

Last season, though, doctors found a congenital fusion in his neck and he missed the entire year. Still, he remains one of the more hyped up draft prospects for 2022 and has a lot to prove. This coming season, Ross is poised to have his best year yet, as he should end up being the no. 1 target in Clemson’s offense led by quarterback DJ Uiagalelei.

Standing 6-foot-4 and 205 pounds, Ross’ frame is his biggest weapon. His wingspan allows for an enormous catch radius. This is the biggest nightmare for his opposing corners. Ross is a guy who you can throw the ball just about anywhere near, and he’ll go get it. He doesn’t have blazing speed by any means, but he’s your prototypical outside wide receiver.

If there’s one area he could improve, it’s his ability to break tackles. Ross will never win an outright foot race, and that’s fine. But, he’ll need to work on shedding tacklers at a higher rate if he’s to take his game to the next level.
