2021 Chicago Bears Roster Rank No. 21: Robert Quinn plummets from 2020 rank
Our ranking of the Chicago Bears’ top 90-player on the roster has continued and we have closed in on the top 20. Remember, this list is focusing on the 2021 season and is looking at what exactly each player can provide.
It is looking into how devastating a bad season would hurt the team, but how much a good season would lift them up as well.
With that in mind, we are onto number 21 in our countdown!
No 21 Chicago Bears Edge Robert Quinn
The drop from seventh before training camp last season to 21st this season is basically what you can say about Robert Quinn’s 2020 in a nutshell. The Chicago Bears paid this guy like he would be the seventh most impactful player. His lack of impact hurt the team like someone who ranks 7th overall did.
So, the Chicago Bears are not giving him a chance to hurt them again. They signed Jeremiah Attaochu but also brought back Mario Edwards who can slide around the DL and Christian Jones who can play outside linebacker in a 3-4 look.
Between the 3, Quinn could see fewer snaps than a year before.
This could be good for Quinn and the Bears, though. Quinn is still a good pass rusher at times, but he brings nothing against the run and in coverage. Utilizing him as a specialty could get more production on fewer snaps. It is not what they envisioned when they signed him but it would be much better than what they have gotten from Robert Quinn so far. This keeps him just inside the top 22.
