Is this Riley Ridley’s last shot to make this Chicago Bears roster?

Player No. 3: Riley Ridley

Believe it or not, Riley Ridley is already heading into his third year in the NFL. Unfortunately for him and the Chicago Bears, he really doesn’t have much to show for it. Through two seasons Ridley has only appeared in 10 games, amassing 10 catches over that time.

He’s started one game over these two seasons in the regular season, as well as one in the playoffs against the Saints in 2020. For one reason or another, Head Coach Matt Nagy hasn’t used Ridley as much as some thought when he was drafted.

Something that may work towards Ridley’s favor is the trade of Anthony Miller. Rumors of Miller being traded can be traced all the way back to last season. While I must admit, I’m not too surprised that Miller was traded but I was surprised with how long the process took.

Even with the loss of Anthony Miller, the Bears still have a pretty populated wide receiver room. Allen Robinson and Darnell Mooney may have those top two spots locked up. Behind them, guys like Marquise Goodwin, Damiere Byrd, Javon Wims and Ridley will be fighting for snaps. Also add in rookie, Dazz Newsome, who will be missing some time with an injury but will certainly find his way into the rotation in the future.
