Darnell Mooney is another lock to make the Chicago Bears final roster

Aside from Allen Robinson, Darnell Mooney was easily the Bears’ best WR in 2020. After being selected with the 173rd pick in the fifth round last April, Mooney has been an absolute steal for the Bears. Catching 61 receptions for 631 yards and four touchdowns, Mooney was a pleasure to watch for Bears fans in 2020.

With his blazing 4.3 speed, superb route running, and long catch radius, Mooney flashed serious potential in his rookie season. Aside from his physical gifts, Mooney has been praised by Bears coaches for his ability to learn the playbook quickly and run plays how they want him to. This is the Bears WR who is most capable of breaking out this season.

Last season, Bears quarterback, Nick Foles missed a few big opportunities to get him the ball downfield for touchdowns. Most notable to Bears fans, the double move against Jalen Ramsey in Chicago’s 24-10 Week 7 loss to the LA Rams at SoFi Stadium.  With so much riding on this season for Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace, expect Nagy to feel the pressure to capitalize on the opportunities Mooney is sure to create downfield in the passing game.
