Chicago Bears: Only three players earn a Madden 22 rating higher than 88
The Chicago Bears are two days into training camp and fans are already in a bit of a tizzy. The team has to have the most strict policies in regards to what can be shared during training camp. Videos, photos and even discussing what has been happening in practice can get you in trouble. It almost feels somewhat scripted in order for the Bears to ensure whatever they want to be made public goes public and whatever they want to stay private stays private.
Well, the very little bit of reporting that has taken place has Andy Dalton looking like a true veteran and Justin Fields looking like a rookie.
At the same time that NFL training camps are underway, EA Sports started releasing their Madden 22 ratings. Not many player ratings have been released yet, but what we do know is that the Chicago Bears only have three players with a rating higher than 88. Two of the three are in the 90s and one in the upper 80s.
The Chicago Bears only have three players with Madden 22 ratings over 88
Khalil Mack, OLB
The top player on the Bears is once again Khalil Mack. He came in with an overall Madden 22 rating of 96. His highest attribute is his awareness and that came in at 95. Mack struggled in 2020 and this rating seems about accurate. He is no longer part of the 99 club, but he is by far one of the best outside linebackers not only in the current NFL but to ever play the game of football.
Mack is rated as the third-best pass rusher in Madden 22 with his rating of 96. He falls in behind Aaron Donald (99) and Myles Garrett (98). He is also the second-highest rated player in the NFC North behind Davante Adams (99).
Allen Robinson, WR
Next up for the Chicago Bears is wide receiver, Allen Robinson. Robinson comes in with a rating of 90 for the Bears. He is tied for seventh in the NFC North with a grade of 90. A catch rating of 89 definitely helps his overall number here. With two very good seasons under his belt for Chicago the last two years, it is great to see Robinson finally getting the recognition he deserves. Unfortunately, it does not appear that he will be back in Chicago in 2022.
Robinson falls in as the 10th best wide receiver in Madden 22 with his rating of 90. Ahead of him on the list include Mike Evans (91), Amari Cooper (92), Keenan Allen (93), Michael Thomas (94), Julio Jones, (95), Stefon Diggs (97), Tyreek Hill (98), DeAndre Hopkins (98) and Davante Adams (99). Hard to argue against most of these receivers being ahead of Robinson. Not sure Thomas should be this high due to his injury history last year and this year, but talent-wise it’s correct.
Eddie Jackson, S
Seeing Eddie Jackson still rated this high is great, but based on his 2020 performance, I was a little surprised to see him make the top 10. Jackson comes in with a rating of 89 — tied with his former teammate and now rival Adrian Amos. Both are also tied with Minkah Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick should be above both Jackson and Amos in my opinion. In fact, the order here seems more out of wack at safety than the wide receiver position.
Tyrann Mathieu leads the way with the highest safety grade at 95. Behind Mathieu is Budda Baker with a rating of 93. Devin McCourty was given a rating of 92, Jessie Bates and Justin Simmons both received a rating of 91 and Harrison Smith and Jamal Adams received a rating of 90. This means that Jackson is tied with Amos as the second-highest rated safety in the NFC North behind Harrison Smith. I don’t have a complaint there, but do believe Jackson is better than Amos.
Final Thoughts:
This is all fun at this point if we are being honest. The Chicago Bears as a team will not be affected by Madden 22 ratings and the game always updates their ratings throughout the season. Will any of these three see an increase or decrease in their rating when the first update comes around? Will any other players see their rating jump up over 88?
