Chicago Bears: 5 Bold predictions from training camp
Chicago Bears Bold Prediction: Justin Fields wins the Week 1 starting job
Alright, this is probably the least bold of my predictions. As fans and even media analysts scream and claw for Justin Fields to be the Chicago Bears’ starting quarterback, Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace have not faltered when discussing the plan for their rookie quarterback.
Andy Dalton is currently and looks to be the starting quarterback for the Bears once Week 1 rolls around versus the Los Angeles Rams. Dalton is a seasoned veteran and brings plenty of experience to the team. With the current tackle situation, it’s even more likely that Dalton gets the nod early. Not to mention, over a three-day span of practice, Dalton has looked better than Fields. This is to be expected of course since he again, is an experienced veteran.
Matt Nagy has left the smallest of cracks open for Justin Fields to push his way into the starting spot prior to the first week of the season. Although I doubt this happens due to Nagy and Pace’s usually frustrating stubbornness, Justin Fields has the ability despite the struggles he’s shown in camp (looked much better today apparently) the last couple of days.
Again, not likely to happen, but I am making it a bold prediction he starts Week 1. I guarantee we see him play at some point this season.
