Chicago Bears fans should keep an eye on Khalil Mack during training camp

This one is pretty obvious, but we need to keep an eye on Khalil Mack for more than just the fact he is the best defensive player on the team. Mack struggled last season despite finishing with nine sacks on the year. It is imperative for Mack to return to his 2019 form at least. If he returns to his 2018 form that would be even better, but he was not as bad as many believe him to be in 2019.

In 2018, Mack finished with 12.5 sacks. He had six forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, an interception and even scored a defensive touchdown. He finished the year with 47 pressures. In 2019, Mack had a very similar year in production minus the sack numbers. Mack finished with only 8.5 sacks and many people thought he had a bad year. However, he still had five forced fumbles and 45 pressures.

Last year, however, Mack saw his pressures drop to 31. That is a significant dropoff for a guy who did not miss any time. He finished with nine sacks, but he was clearly less disruptive in the backfield. He only had three forced fumbles that season too. I want to see Mack look healthy while he dominates a Chicago Bears offensive line that might struggle at both tackle positions. Hopefully, he still looks as disruptive when Teven Jenkins and Germain Ifedi return.
