Chicago Bears: 5 Can’t-miss players at training camp
Chicago Bears fans must watch Damien Williams during training camp
Finally, the last player on this list is a little different than the rest. However, after hearing what he has done in his first week of training camp with the Bears, it appears Damien Williams is a can’t-miss player this offseason.
Williams has been sharp and a big part of the Chicago Bears passing game in camp. He opted out in 2020 due to COVID-19 concerns, but in 2019 he had a very productive season for the Chiefs. His Super Bowl performance that season was good enough for Super Bowl MVP considerations. In that game, Williams scored two touchdowns and gained over 100 all-purpose yards.
During the regular season, Williams only saw 111 carries, but he scored five touchdowns on the ground and averaged 4.5 yards per carry (YPC). Williams scored another two touchdowns through the air that season too. He finished with just over 700 all-purpose yards. Although not likely to see the same amount of touches in Chicago this year, Damien Williams has looked good enough in camp that he deserves a mention here. The Bears running back room looks good this season.
