3. Chicago Bears Position Group: Outside Linebacker

On the outside of this Bears front seven, Pace signed former Broncos OLB Jeremiah Attaochu to a two-year, $5.5 million dollar deal. Playing in 13 games for Vic Fangio and the Broncos defense in 2020, Attaochu logged five sacks, nine QB hits and one forced fumble. Coming off a solid year as a rotational edge rusher for the Broncos, keep an eye out for Attaouchu rushing the passer for this Bears defense.

Just 35 sacks for this Chicago Bears defense in 2020 was not what Ryan Pace was hoping for. Despite having Khalil Mack and Robert Quinn as the starters, there was a need for more experience and depth at the OLB position.

Attaouchu’s two seasons playing for Vic Fangio will make him a great scheme fit, who already knows his role for Fangio disciple Sean Desai’s defense. Given his pass-rushing ability and experience in Denver with Fangio, Jeremiah Attaouchu is a clear upgrade from Barkevious Mingo for Chicago.

Consider the addition of Christian Jones and Jeremiah Attaouchu as significant rotational upgrades for this Bears defense at linebacker heading into 2021.
