The Chicago Bears 2020 rookie wide receiver out of Tulane University was a pleasant surprise to a lot of people, especially with the involvement early on for the fifth-rounder. As the 24th selected WR out of the 2020 rookie class, Mooney finished seventh in targets and ninth in fantasy points. Where will he finish among his peers in 2021 though?

Coming into his sophomore season, Darnell Mooney is set to be the WR2 for the Bears behind Allen Robinson, and is a player many are hoping to continue to develop and grow in this system and as an individual player. According to Adam Jahns of The Athletic, Mooney looked “more polished and explosive” throughout the OTA’s (organized team activities) reported in July. Many have been excited to hear about his route running and how often he has fooled defensive backs.

The Chicago Bears have a potential flex for fantasy football in Darnell Mooney

Through this article, we will look back on 2020 for both statistics and fantasy football review. This will lead to a discussion on where Darnell Mooney is being drafted currently for fantasy football, what he can do in 2021, and what his fantasy outlook can end up being for the upcoming season. Many times a player can add more value to a team than they do in fantasy football. Will Mooney be one of those guys in his second year, or will he build on his 2020 season and help fantasy owners too?
