Kindle Vildor is creating a real buzz at Chicago Bears training camp

Going into camp, many expected newly-signed veteran cornerback Desmond Trufant to assume the starting role opposite Jaylon Johnson. However, most of the talk during camp has been of competition at that spot.

That competition lies between Trufant and second-year pro, Kindle Vildor, whom the Bears selected in 2020 out of Georgia Southern. So far in camp, Vildor has been holding his own and making it very apparent he has grown since Year 1.

Recently, he slid into the starting role on Friday when Trufant sat out that day and he performed well. His key play came when he broke up a pass intended for wide receiver Marquise Goodwin.

Vildor’s attitude in camp has been that of a true professional. He admits that nothing is going to be given to him and that he’s here to work, which is exactly what you want to hear out of a young player like Vildor.

Currently, the thought is Vildor will end up playing significant time somewhere this season, whether that’s outside or in the slot. He is versatile and has experience playing in both positions. The work he’s putting in during camp has proved he deserves to get on the field, too.
