Alec Ogletree is creating a real buzz at Chicago Bears training camp
Although training camp has been going on for much longer, the Bears have already seen enough out of veteran linebacker Alec Ogletree in the five days he’s been with the team.
Chicago signed Ogletree barely a week ago, and he’s already come up with six interceptions. That’s six picks in just four practices.
There is no doubt that the most talked about player in Bears camp right now is Ogletree. Hands down, he has created the most buzz as of late. With Danny Trevathan holding down the starting spot inside next to Roquan Smith, it’s Ogletree breathing down the former’s neck.
It’s only a few practices, but Ogletree is doing everything Sean Desai wants to see out of his defense in 2021. Desai, along with head coach Matt Nagy, has preached takeaways nonstop. That’s their number one focus within the defense, and it’s not close. Nagy has even told the media he wants his guys dreaming about taking the football away.
Bears fans might remember Ogletree as the guy who took an interception all the way back for a touchdown in a game that Chase Daniel started a couple of years back. Well, he’s back to his same tricks. This time, he’s with the good guys.
