Chicago Bears: 5 players generating real buzz at training camp

Jesse James is creating a real buzz at Chicago Bears training camp
Another recent signee, tight end Jesse James, should be familiar with the Bears. He spent the last two seasons with the Detroit Lions after beginning his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The 27-year-old comes to the Bears as someone who will likely fill their third tight end spot, however, he could be used much more than some might think. When the Bears run two tight end sets, James could see some work, depending upon the type of formation. He’s a solid blocker, but he’s also developed a strong relationship with Justin Fields so far.
There have been a few practices in the last week where Fields has hit James multiple times and it’s looked natural. The connection between Fields and James has looked that of guys who have been working together for far longer than just a few days.
Next year, Jimmy Graham will likely be gone and the Bears will need another tight end to step up next to Cole Kmet. Although James signed a 1-year deal, the relationship he’s formed with Fields could earn him a longer deal with the Bears next year. To have two solid tight ends for the foreseeable future would be a huge benefit to a young quarterback like Fields.
In six seasons in the league, James has caught 150 passes for 1,460 yards and 11 touchdowns.
