5 Chicago Bears who should flash in joint practices with Dolphins
The Chicago Bears will host the Miami Dolphins in their first preseason game this Saturday. However, before then the teams will be working together for joint practices starting on Wednesday. A game is great, but it is even better to get a few days against competition that you are not used to. Especially after days of seeing the same foes.
With that in mind, it is a good chance for some players to stand apart and prove that it was not just the person across from them, but that they can have success against other teams and other techniques.
Who are five players who could benefit the most from these practices?
5. Trevis Gipson
Ryan Pace loves his mid-round picks. He also loves trading picks. He has a mid-round pick that he traded future draft capital in Trevis Gipson, so you know that Pace is ready to see a breakout from the young man.
The reports out of camp so far have been glowing and reporters are saying that he looks like someone who spent a full year in a strength and conditioning program. Gipson has popped in practices, but the Bears tackle situation has been fluid at best.
The Dolphins’ tackles are a step up from what Gipson has faced so far but are not elite to the point where Gipson should be struggling all of a sudden. It should be a great test of just how far he has grown.
