The Chicago Bears have released the first unofficial depth chart of the 2021 season. The first preseason game is Saturday. Corn is getting tall and you can almost taste fall and regular season football in the air. There are reasons galore to be excited about the upcoming season and to get the blood flowing. Here are some way too early reactions to the initial offensive depth chart.

Before we get into the details, let’s rewind a bit and talk about what has taken place in training camp over the last two weeks. The main storyline is the injuries that have taken place — most notably to Teven Jenkins. The Chicago Bears 2021 second-round pick has not seen a rep at training camp due to back issues. Back issues can be the worst for an offensive lineman. It is unfortunate, but not necessarily career-ending though. Hopefully, he heals well and quickly.

The Chicago Bears have been bitten by the injury bug this offseason

Germain Ifedi has not been able to see the practice field due to a hip flexor injury. Again, not the best type of injury for an offensive lineman. Other notable players who have missed time due injury include Robert Quinn (back), Desmond Trufant (thigh), Larry Borom (concussion), Eddie Jackson (hamstring), Josh Woods (thigh), James Daniels (thigh), Tarik Cohen (PUP), Roquan Smith (groin), Tashaun Gipson (groin), Artie Burns (quad), and a few others.

Beyond these players, Eddie Goldman, Elijah Wilkinson, Christian Jones and Patrick Scales all missed time on the reserve/COVID-19 list. If you couldn’t tell, there have been plenty of bumps and bruises for this team. However, this is very common for many NFL teams during training camp. The good news is, the team is getting healthier for the most part. Perfect timing as the team is set to match up against the Dolphins practice for two days and again in a preseason game.

Here is a look at the offensive depth chart heading into the matchup with the Dolphins on Saturday.
