2. Trevis Gipson over James Vaughters

This may not be notable to some but somewhat expected. Still, it is something that was not happening last season. The rookie Gipson failed to beat out the journeyman Vaughters through his entire first season.

Considering Ryan Pace traded a future pick for Gipson, this looked like a disaster. However, Pace has said that he expects a leap in production from Gipson now that he is in year two.

Reports have been good out of camp. He showed up in great shape and has looked great, albeit against weak tackle competition. Still, he has done what has been asked, and after a year behind Vaughters, he starts ahead of him. It is his to lose, but momentum says this change is done.
