Chicago Bears: Surprises from the first unofficial defensive depth chart
The Chicago Bears need to see Khalil Mack dominate again
The starting four here were never in question. Khalil Mack and Robert Quinn will man the two outside spots. These two will be counted on to get to the quarterback as much and as often as possible. This is something the team has been missing the last two seasons (more so in 2020) and the defense will need to bring the heat if they want to make the playoffs this year.
The two main backups behind Mack and Quinn are Jeremiah Attaochu and second-year starter Trevis Gipson. Attaochu came here from Denver and is an insurance policy for Quinn should he not play well again. Gipson needs to take a step forward after an uneventful rookie season. I have high hopes for him this season in a limited role.
If the Chicago Bears keep five outside linebackers as I expect them to, then four players will be battling to earn the final roster spot. These four include James Vaughters, Ledarius Mack, Charles Snowden and Sam Kamara.
