Chicago Bears Inside Linebacker — Alec Ogletree
One of the recent additions to the Chicago Bears is veteran inside linebacker Alec Ogletree. Ogletree only got brought in because he was in Chicago with outside linebacker Robert Quinn and got the chance to talk to some coaches in Chicago. That led to them wanting to sign him and bring him in. Since he got brought in, he has lit it up.
In his first three practices, Ogletree tallied five interceptions making an immediate impact. The 29-year-old began his career in St. Louis with the Rams and stayed with them as they made the switch to Los Angeles. He played for the Rams for five seasons before joining the New York Giants. His best season came in 2016 in which he racked up 136 tackles along with two interceptions and a forced fumble.
Since leaving the Rams, Ogletree has bounced around now on his third team in three seasons. Ogletree adds great depth though to a position that had to start Manti Te’o in their playoff game against the New Orleans Saints. The depth was greatly lacking, and Ogletree, listed as a third-stringer, could see significant time to continue balling out against the Dolphins.
