Many Bears fans might not know who Tre Roberson is, but he finally is getting his chance to play for the Bears this preseason. The Bears signed Roberson prior to the 2020 NFL season after he tallied an incredible seven interceptions in 16 games in the Canadian Football League. He was then signed to the biggest contract of any player from the CFL since Cameron Wake.

Roberson then suffered a season-ending injury early in camp last season. Despite that, the Bears still brought him back for 2020 giving him another chance. Roberson could be competing for his chance on the roster with how deep the Bears cornerback position is with a mix of young and veteran cornerbacks.

The former Illinois-State quarterback now has his chance to actually play with the Bears as he missed all of last season and the fact there is actually preseason this year. Roberson is a great athlete and could compete to be a backup for the Bears with Kindle Vildor and Jaylon Johnson starting at the cornerback positions. He additionally could still compete for slot cornerback.
