Chicago Bears potential Allen Robinson Replacement: Michael Gallup

Why it makes sense

The Cowboys have shelled over a lot of money in recent years to keep star offensive players like Dak Prescott,  Amari Cooper, and Ezekiel Elliot. With such a large percentage of the team’s salary going towards those three, it may be hard for Michael Gallup to get the long-term deal he wants.

Gallup has been a productive receiver early in his career, putting up a combined 1,950 yards and 11 touchdowns over the last two seasons. Where Gallup has really shined is as a big-play weapon, averaging an impressive 15.6 yards per catch in his career. Gallup has proven to be a good secondary option and could benefit from playing in an offense that doesn’t have Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb taking away targets from him.

Why it may not work

Gallup has greatly benefited from playing in one of the most pass-happy offenses in football. Although he is very talented, taking someone who was his team’s third-leading receiver last season to be a potential WR1 is a bit of a gamble.
